Chrysopolis (Greek for "city of gold") is a former settlement in Inyo County, California.[1] It was located on the east bank of the Owens River south of Aberdeen,[2] at an elevation of 3819 feet (1164 m).[1]
Chrysopolis was founded in the 1860s.[2] As the name suggests, Chrysopolis was originally a mining camp.[2] A post office operated at Chrysopolis from 1866 to 1867.[2]
